A single session can really get your ski’s behavior and/or the focus of your tuning program nicely on track. But to put the sharpest edge possible on a custom setup, a couple more sessions of fine-tuning can usually achieve a slightly higher state of tune.
Multiple sessions are also good for demoing multiple skis, exploring alternate setups like long/shallow vs. short/deep fin setups, or getting friends or other family members dialed in.
Multiple sessions also provide a unique learning opportunity for those interested in developing their own tuning craft. Three rounds of video analysis, ski adjustments, testing, questions and explanations with a master ski-tuner can be thought of as a mini apprenticeship—with a nicely tuned ski as icing on the cake.
These sessions can be done via email, one-on-one over the phone, or in any combination that best helps you reach your goals.
